BMI no longer limiting factor for kidney transplant thanks to robotic surgery
UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital on the Anschutz Medical Campus joins three other hospitals in offering robotic kidney transplant surgery, making such transplants available to patients with a BMI over 40. Historically, those with BMI greater than 40 could not undergo kidney transplant surgery because of higher risks to them.
