Who won INVEST Pop Health Pitch Perfect?

Six healthcare startups took center stage at the conference and presented their approaches to addressing pain points in chronic condition management and population health.

At the INVEST Pop Health virtual conference, in collaboration with New Orleans Business Alliance, six healthcare startups took center stage. They presented their approaches to addressing pain points in chronic condition management and population health as part of the INVEST Pitch Perfect contest. Three judges reviewed and queried each of the startup presentations at the conference on Tuesday, November 16.

As a reminder the contestants included:

The winner is Oncoustics. The company’s AI solutions turn point of care ultrasound devices into powerful diagnostic tools for faster, cost effective detection and monitoring of diseases including diseases in the liver, prostate, kidney, breast and thyroid.

The judging panel included:

  • David Kereiakes, Partner, Providence Ventures
  • Anahita Nakhjiri, Associate, Strategic Investment, Echo Health Ventures
  • Maxim Owen, Principal, Wavemaker Three-Sixty Health

Kereiakes shared what why he and the other judges chose Oncoustics, in an emailed response to the question.

“I am impressed with Oncoustics world class leadership team and excited to see the material impact their technology will have on patient care,” he said. “I believe Oncoustics is well positioned to drive meaningful change in how clinicians use point of care ultrasound for both surveillance and diagnostics to potentially enable earlier treatment for various serious liver conditions and other deadly diseases that go undiagnosed for far too long.”
