Prompt Health Founder and CEO Hedieh Safiyari talks about her healthcare startup that seeks to provide an online marketplace to connect clients, providers and products in a better way where everybody benefits from smart referrals.
Why did you start this company?
There is a huge fragmentation in the wellness industry with no effective strategy for choosing health and wellness solutions. With so many options, clients struggle or spend too much time and effort finding reliable sources that are not necessarily personalized to their needs. On the other hand, health practitioners have a harder time efficiently getting the word out about their services among so much noise.
What specific need are you seeking to address in healthcare?
We are creating an ecosystem to connect clients, providers and products in a better way where everybody benefits from smart referrals. We provide clients a reliable source to find what they need with ease and confidence, and health practitioners can showcase themselves more effectively to find the right matches that stay with them longterm.
What does your product do? How does it work?
Prompt Health is an online marketplace on a mission to revolutionize the health and wellness experience with smart referrals, connecting people to the right services based on their needs.
Our platform and upcoming app act as a ‘personal assistant’ that takes the challenge out of accessing and navigating the care you need, which is why we call it a healthcare concierge service. We do the screening or the “triage” for you using our algorithm to provide you with your options based on your need. You can select a service by location, whether that be close to home or online anywhere in Canada, and have the option to further filter your matches based on your preferences such as gender, language, price and more. This makes finding a health or wellness professional as personalized as it gets as you can search, compare your options, and book services all in one place.
Is this your first healthcare startup? What’s your background in healthcare?
Yes, this is my first startup. I took part in developing a few startups in health, and spent the majority of my career with one that ended up being one of the pioneers of health in Canada. That company is now part of a bigger national corporation. Additionally, I was a clinician for 20 years. After obtaining my MBA, I went on to consult a number of health technology startups before launching my own. With my combined experience, I hope to make this venture a success story.
What is your company’s business model?
Accessing care is free for all users, who we refer to as clients. For health practitioners and centers, we use a subscription model at a very low cost. Recently, we added digital marketing options to further empower health businesses to expand their reach. Along with the marketing packages, we are introducing a partner program which will help to create a real ecosystem for health and wellness practitioners and those who use the services.
Do you have clinical validation for your product?
We did a soft launch in October and received a lot of interest from all kinds of health practitioners and potential partners. They expressed what a great resource this is, and we are fortunate to have had hundreds of health professionals signed up already from all across Canada. We are now inviting everyone to check out our network, all Canadians who are looking for a service and health professionals who are interested to be part of this network. It is growing everyday with lots of new updates, so be sure to check back often.
Together we can change the way we access healthcare for the better, and personalize our wellness journey. Join the movement today!
