The collaboration is between Los Angeles County Office of Education, L.A. Care Health Plan, Health Net, L.A. County Department of Mental Health and school-based telehealth company Hazel Health. The program will provide L.A. County K-12 public schools with access to Hazel Health’s telehealth services.

Hazel Health, a company that provides school-based telehealth, has closed a $51.5 million Series C1 funding round. The company also announced it has deployed its services in more than 3,000 schools across 14 states.

The startup connects students to a physician during a telehealth consult while they’re at the school nurse’s office or at home. It plans to use the funding to expand its services this fall, when it will be integrated with districts representing 1.5 million students

Companies, health plans and providers are increasingly looking at delivering care at schools, where children spend most of their waking hours.
