Transcarent announced a new provider network, which seeks to help its employer customers provide their staff with access to high-quality, affordable care. The network includes 10 health systems — including Mount Sinai, Mass General Brigham and Intermountain Health.

Mental health company Two Chairs launched two new solutions Tuesday: group therapy and care navigation. The offerings will help improve access to mental health care and lead to better clinical outcomes, said Alex Katz, CEO and founder of the company

Through an expanded partnership, Virgin Pulse’s clients who use the Homebase for Health platform can now access Headspace’s full suite of services. This includes an on-demand employee assistance program, clinical support and self-guided tools.

Progyny is now a “preferred partner” on Quantum’s Comprehensive Care Solutions platform, which is a group of benefits solutions that Quantum’s more than 500 employer clients can choose to work with.

Through an expanded partnership with Teladoc, HealthJoy is providing access to virtual primary care services for the first time. The company already offers employers services for areas including mental health, nutrition and musculoskeletal therapy.

Patients are struggling to find the right care, and that’s because the healthcare system is fragmented, according to Andrea Walsh, president and CEO of HealthPartners, an integrated healthcare provider and insurance company. Walsh made these comments Wednesday at the HIMSS 2023 conference in Chicago.

Ada Health recently announced that Jefferson Health is deploying its technology across its entire enterprise as part of a digital front door initiative. The Berlin-based company’s AI-powered symptom assessment and care navigation tools helps health systems achieve a robust digital front door, which means staff members don’t have to spend as much time triaging patients or helping them navigate the process of finding care.

Papa’s Social Care Navigation offering provides users with a team of social care navigators, including social workers, registered nurses, case managers and dieticians. This team can help with social issues the patient may be experiencing, including housing, paying for groceries and overdue health screenings. After only offering the program to a select group of health plan clients last year, Social Care Navigation is now available to all of Papa’s payer customers.

Point32Health will now be able offer members access to LGBTQ+ Health, Included Health’s navigation and advocacy program for LGBTQ+ members. These members will have access to a care team led by LGBTQ+ care coordinators, who can help them find in-network, gender-affirming providers. They can also be connected to support groups and receive education on medical and legal issues. 

The new solution is called Quantum Health Access, which offers healthcare benefits navigation, provider search, claims assistance, point solution referral and member engagement communications.

Transformation Capital led the funding round with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Frist Cressey Ventures, Edward Elmhurst Health, AlleyCorp. The new financing enables Memora to meet commercial demand , drive new partnerships and further improve the care delivery experience, said CEO Manav Sevak.

Ada Health closed its Series B round after a $30 million extension round. International investors Farallon Capital, Red River West and Bertelsmann Investments provided the additional funds. This follows an initial Series B raise of $90 million last May, which was led by Bayer’s investment arm.

Transcarent, which is works with companies to steer their employees toward higher-quality, lower-cost care, struck a partnership with Walmart. It will offer Walmart’s health services, including its prescription prices, to self-insured companies. 

Care navigation company Accolade struck an agreement to buy telehealth startup PlushCare for $450 million. The goal is to support primary care physicians with information about a patient’s health and benefits, CEO Rajeev Singh said. 

Livongo’s founder has created a new care navigation venture because he believes that both the experience that people undergo as they look for care and the level of risk that vendors are willing to take when they work with self-insured employers leave much to be desired.

Livongo Founder Glen Tullman is leading a new healthcare venture. Called Transcarent, the patient navigation platform strikes risk-sharing agreements with employers. 

The acquisition enabled the development of Accolade Total Care, a product meant to ease the headache of finding a high-quality physician by making provider quality and cost measures available to both Accolade members and the company’s care concierges.

The co-branded application will open up access to K Health’s AI-driven triage and symptom checker tool to Anthem’s more than 40 million members. 

Through the startup’s collaboration with the rideshare service, Grand Rounds care coordinators are able to book an Uber to arrange transport for a member to meet their healthcare needs.
